Northern New York Bridge Failures

Heavy rains on April 26th & 27th caused major flooding in northern New York and Vermont.  Essex County New York was hardest hit by the flooding.  Several roads were closed, at least one roadway collapsed, a culvert failed, and two bridges failed due to the flooding.  The Press Republican has a good article about the two bridge failures.  The Broad Street bridge spans an abandoned railroad grade and does not normally convey water.  Here are the pictures of the two bridges.

CBS6 also posted some good images of the flooding.
